Hello, and welcome to my blog! Since this is my first post, I’d like to tell you a little about myself...
There are thousands of computer scientists in California. We can all program. We all want jobs. So what makes me stand out from all the other computer scientists out there? The typical 6th-semester student at San Jose State University will have completed 89.5 units this upcoming May, while I already completed 91.3 units back in December. Since I began my computer science career at San Jose State University, I have gained over 2.5 years of experience programming in Java, and over 1.5 years programming in C.
I love what I have been learning and doing at SJSU, but I also enjoy engaging myself in other activities. I take pride in my fit and healthy lifestyle. I firmly believe that such a lifestyle leads to success and happiness. I frequently hike at Mission Peak in Fremont, CA, but also like exploring new grounds with breathtaking views. Although I do not play competitive golf like I did in high school, I still enjoy rounds of golf here and there.
In fall 2013, my team and I recreated the game Rock, Paper, Scissors in NetBeans using Java for an object-oriented design class. The objective was to be able to develop a well designed software application that is efficient and does expected. Along with doing work in all aspects of the project, my particular tasks were to create a smart algorithm for the computer to use against the player, reading/writing previous throws in a game to an external file, and designing UML class diagrams. The RPS game started as command line, but later implemented the use of GUI, and finally multi-threading was used and multiple games were able to be played simultaneously. As a result, the game turned out as expected and was executed very well.
Leadership:
- Organized and set all deadlines for Rock, Paper, Scissors project.
- Attend leadership workshops for Alpha Phi Omega
- Regulate workflow at The Sizzling Stone. Make sure service is going smoothly and all expectations of maintaining a successful bistro during rush hours are met.
Experience:
- Rock, Paper, Scissors project
- Participant in Barracuda 24-hr Hackathon
- Currently in production of an iPhone app using C in Xcode
I am currently seeking an internship opportunity in the Bay Area. I am particularly interested in software development positions that use Java. I am interested in front-end development because of my experience and knowledge with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I assure you that I can complete projects in timely manners and with excellence. I am dedicated to working hard and delivering top-of-the-line results.
